Present your work with public profile

A fav20 user, just contacted me and showed me a nice use of the public profile.

He created the domain danielmclellan.com and redirected to the fav20 profile to present his portofolio.

If anybody of you think of any other use please say. I will implement other features on the public profile.

Team fav20.com won #1 Bestis Engage Iasi Dota

Bestis Engage Iasi organized this weekend (21-22 november 2008) a local (Iasi) Dota Allstars Tournament.

Fav20 team ( BunnyFace, Bibismurf, Vstyle, H3iko and Bl4nka ) won #1 at this tournament. We completely annihilated every other team :).

Why use fav20 as a homepage ?

Here is a short list of features and advantages that will make you wanna use fav20.com as your browser homepage.

no registration – you have all features from the first time you visit;
easy to find – because all websites have images, you can easily see the site you want to visit;

PageRank Update 27 September 2008

I invite you to check your website PageRank because today, 27 september 2008, I see that Google has updated the Pagerank. If you did a good job bringing good quality backlinks to your website, you got a good PageRank.

Fav20 got PageRank 5, it is nice but for me it doesn’t help because I do not use SEO to drive visitors to my site.

You can check your PageRank pretty fast with ipagerank.org . If any of you is really happy and needs to share what PageRank you got, please leave a comment.

Fav20 will attend webstock as a “Utility” 2.0 project. Here is a BETA list of projects that will attend this category:

In my opinion, there are only 3 2.0 projects (user oriented/controling projects): lista.lu, tastekid and fav20, but I will all of them good luck.

Internetics 2008 – Other services

Fav 2.0 is competing at Internetics 2008 on category Other services.

Competition will be very hard, there are very good websites (ideas and final result) on this category. Best websites in my opinion (except fav20) are eOK , ZeList and CaptainGo.

Some other active members or that provided feedback received a Fav 2.0 Tshirt personalized with their sites on it.

Google Chrome or Fav 2.0 ?

Google launched a new web browser: Chrome. When I tested it, I got scared because of the good new tab feature with most visited webpages easily accesible. I thought I was doomed with my fav20 project. But lets see what diffrences make fav20 still better then chrome:

Fav20 …

isn’t browser depandable – can run on any browser, even on mobile
doesn’t require instalation (plugin or program/new browser)
You can have your favorite websites anywhere using the account, even tho you don’t need a fav20 account to use fav20.
You can add/manage your most visited websites as you please, sort them, color them.
You can launch most visited websites with one click !

I recommend Chrome as a web browser, but fav20 is still a lot better as a homepage.
